This is a slightly unknown one for me. I did my first gig in The Jam House recently with Inventor Composer and enjoyed myself quite a lot and got on quite well with people and they asked me whether I would like to be house engineer for gigs in the future to which I said yes (a small Midas and a LOAD of Nexo can be quite a lot of fun).
So on May 24th I have an acoustic big band with 3 singers doing a tribute to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jnr with drums, d/bass, guitar, piano, 4 horns which should be quite a bit of fun. I like situations when the mix has to call for being big and over-the-top but without actually being too physically LOUD (people will be eating while listening) so one has to play with compression quite a bit to generate the impact that one needs but hopefully while still keeping the feeling of dynamics and excitement...
