It is with great pleasure that I can announce that I will be recording and amplifying the Loop Collective Upload Festival in London on the 28th and 29th September '12.
On Friday we are back in The Forge in Camden and working with Tom Challenger's Brass Mask; a new electro-acoustic duo featuring UK jazz stars Rory Simmons and Jim Hart; and an explosive percussion trio of Dave Smith, John Blease and Ben Bryant.
On Saturday we shift across to The Vortex where I am responsible for the inside entertainment that includes 2 duos (including the mesmerising collaboration between Seb Rochford and Kit Downes) and culminating with specially commissioned large ensemble Cats Cradle made up of Loop members and some of their closest musical collaborators.
At 11pm, the chairs will be cleared and a radical club night will take place featuring the fantastically warped vocal-and-baritone-sax-led trio Snack Family; Senegalese dub/funk trail blazers Fofoulah, and genre defying DJ organisation Sound-Species.
I am going to be taking my new Digico SD11 with UB-MADI which will hugely simplify the logistics of soundchecks and changeovers on both days and permit high quality multi-track recordings to be made in parallel with doing FOH and monitors.
